Bankstown Hospital Support
The Rotary Club of Padstow, Inc., has committed itself to finding ways to support Bankstown Hospital. To date, we have supplied the hospital with a stroke care bed, and a blood warmer.
Blood Warmer
With funds raised at Padstow on Parade, the Rotary Club of Padstow has been able to continue to support the Bankstown Community Hospital by purchasing a Blood Warmer. As the name implies, this item of medical equipment keeps warm fluids including blood and plasma, both during and after operations. To reduce shock in patients, it is vitally important that these fluids are kept at body temperatures during these procedures.
Blood warmers are much-needed pieces of equipment, though rather costly, at $6,000 each. With the generosity and support of our local community, the Club has been able to provide the hospital with the money needed for this equipment.
