Paul Harris Fellows

Paul Harris, a Chicago lawyer, was the founding father of Rotary. Read his story here.

Anyone who contributes, or in whose name is contributed, US$1,000 or more to the Annual Programs Fund may become a Paul Harris Fellow. In Australia, Paul Harris Fellowships usually come from a Rotary club honouring a deserving person by donating the money in their name, and then presenting them with the award. Often, but not necessarily, the recipient will be a member of the club, as years of dedicated effort are recognised. Sometimes, however, the efforts of a non-Rotarian will be rewarded with a Fellowship. And sometimes, a philanthropic Rotarian will make a donation as an individual.
