Jackie Luck
Jackie approached the Youth Trust for assistance to travel to Beijing to take part in the orchestra at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games. Jackie is a very accomplished musician, and plays in two local bands: Yagoona District Brass Band, and the South Pacific Concert Band, as well as the Picnic Point High School Band. For the last two years she has played trumpet with the NSW State Schools Symphonic Wind Orchestra and the Millenium Marching Band.
Jacqueline is almost 16, and goes to Picnic Point High School. The marching band in which she plays is part of the Department of Education and Training Arts Unit. The band rehearses once a month, because the students come from all over NSW. The orchestra for the Olympic Games opening ceremony will consist of 2008 musicians from all over the world. Jackie is one of 150 students from NSW, and the only one from the Bankstown area.
