The Contents

The contents of the time capsule included:

• a letter from the 1981 Club President (Barry Thompson) to the current President
• a letter from the 1981 Principal of Caroline Chisholm School (David Edmunds),
• a copy of the Torch,
• a copy of the Telegraph,
• a pencil,
• a pen,
• a marking pen,
• a stick of chalk,
• a mousetrap,
• a cassette of RI information,
• a Bible,
• a copy of the Fulcrum, and
• a 45rpm record (Kate Bush singing "Babooshka").

The contents were chosen to both reflect the world of 1981 and to - tentatively - suggest some of those things which might be radically different in the world of 2006. The cassette tape and the 45rpm record are both defintely obsolete, but the old design mousetrap still seems to be the standard.
