Club Structure Discussion
This was an interesting, if rather long, discussion. To put it simply, the Club is divided as to whether the new club structure is an improvement or not.
Some of the comments:
- WB - "Lots of people come to Rotary through projects."
- MK - "Some of the areas under TRF are not part of TRF."
- JM - "I've never felt so involved."
- DE - "I just want to find my niche and do things."
- BT - "It was never the intention of RI that TRF run International because they originally put it under Service Projects."
- CD - "If we do projects locally, that's how we get members."
- BM - "The best people to do an evaluation are the people doing the program."
- BM - "We're not only doing it for ourselves, we're doing it for a lot of other people around the world."
Although there was a sharp disagreement between participants in the discussion, it was "almost unanimous" that the trial, which was implemented in Barry Thompson's term as President, and carried forward in Keri Sweet's term, be carried through Keith Roffey's term next year to properly conclude a three-year trial of the structure.
