Glenda Murray (right) thanked exchange student Claus Jensen for his talk on his Australia experiences.
Claus said that the host families that he's had have all been very good; he has felt at home since day one with all of them.
Claus said that he had done too many things since coming to Australia to be able to talk about them all in a Rotary club address, and underlined his point with a maelstrom of photos in his Powerpoint slide.
In speaking about school, Claus noted that he'd managed to turn up at Picnic Point High on his first day in a girl's uniform. (Obviously that didn't mean a dress or skirt, but Claus didn't elaborate.)
Claus had two very different work experiences organised by his school, working as a carpenter on one occassion, and milking cows on another.
He hadn't had any problems with homesickness, but he was now ready to go home. "A year's holiday is long enough"
Claus also noted that he had greatly enjoyed comng to the Club meetings on Tuesday nights.
In thanking Claus, Glenda mentioned the difference between the photo of Claus before he came, and the fine young man who was shortly to return home.
