Hurstville Rotary
The Rotary Club of Hurstville's President, Kevin Smith (right), pictured with the guest speaker for the evening, Major Colin Maxwell of the Salvation Army. Major Maxwell spoke on the devastation wrought by the tsunami of 26 December, 2004, and The Salvation Army's efforts to assist people out of that devastation. Major Maxwell's presentation was ably done, and brought home the magnitude of the physical, economic, emotional, and spiritual disaster. After the Major's presentation, Hurstville Rotary voted to assist with further funding.
This meeting was attended by Kaye and Peter Townsend, as part of Padstow Rotary's "Makeup Night". All members of Padstow Rotary were asked to attend other clubs for the night, and to bring back a report to Padstow at the next meeeting.
