Tsunami
President Barry Thompson quickly contacted Club members after the tsunami of 26th December 2004 to say that the next meeting of the Club, on 11th January 2005, would be concerned with ways that the Club could assist the countries that were devastated.
After a broad discussion by the Club members, President Barry had material that he could take to discuss with the District Governor Lloyd Roever and other club presidents. The meeting had to consider, among other things, whether Rotary's best effort would be in immediate response or in long-term commitment.
